The advice meeting takes an hour. The file around it takes another.

What it usually gets called:Case files, active client management, duty of care

Concrete

The write-up and the reasoning prepared from your own notes, ready for you to check and sign off

The advice itself is the profession. Writing up the meeting, substantiating the choices, classifying documents and completing the file for the duty of care is the work around it, and that work is almost as large.

Underneath sits a second layer. Everything after the first advice slips. Active client management has been the number one priority in the sector for years and has barely moved for just as long, and the reason practices give is a lack of hours.

The intake has the same shape: requesting documents, chasing the ones that never arrive, retyping the same figures between systems that do not talk to each other. And a file that was accurate on the day of the advice quietly goes out of date.

What we build here takes over the groundwork and not the judgement. The intake prepared from what the client already supplied, the write-up drafted from your own notes, and a signal telling you which file needs attention before it goes stale. You read it back, you correct it, you sign it off.
